Der Trend, Spiele mit Singleplayer-Fokus trotzdem mit verschiedenen Bezahlelementen auszustatten macht auch vor Far Cry 5 keinen Halt.
Es dauert nicht mehr lange, dann kommt Far Cry 5 in den Handel. Bisher gab es keine gesicherten Informationen darüber, ob und in welcher Form der Titel Bezahlinhalte unterstützen wird – oder eben nicht. Nun hatten Kollegen einer anderen Seite die Möglichkeit, den Titel bereits bei einer Preview-Veranstaltung anzutesten. Dabei stießen sie auf virtuelle Silberbarren, die sich im Spiel als dortige Währung finden lassen. Doch in der Demo-Version war der entsprechende Shop noch nicht verfügbar. Nun darf also spekuliert werden, was es dort zu kaufen geben wird.
Allerdings sollen dort wohl nur kosmetische Items und „Zeiteinsparungen“ zu finden sein. Ähnlich also, wie es bereits in Assassin’s Creed Origins der Fall war. Als Beispiele sollen Skins für Waffen und Fahrzeuge sowie diverse Outfits für den Spieler genannt worden sein. Neben dem Finden im Spiel soll man die Silberbarren natürlich auch für Echtgeld erwerben können. Zur Preisgestaltung sagte Ubisoft indessen aber nichts. Jedoch versicherte ein Vertreter von Ubisoft, dass in Far Cry 5 keine Lootboxen oder sonstige Systeme, die auf Glück basieren, vorhanden sein werden. Dennoch unterstütze man die kosmetischen Mikrotransaktionen. Wie sich das alles genau verhält, erfahren wir wohl erst zum Release am 27. März 2018. Dann erscheint der Titel für die PlayStation 4, Xbox One und den PC.
