Durch die Registrierung einer neuen Domain laufen die Spekulationen um ein neues „Wolfenstein“ erneut.
Dies sind nicht nur Anzeichen für eine Neuauflage von „Legacy of Kain“, sondern möglicherweise auch für ein Remake von „Wolfenstein“. In einem Webprofil des Komponisten Julian Beeston wurde ein neues „Wolfenstein“ auf dessen Projektliste hinzugefügt. Dies wurde zwar mittlerweile wieder modifziert aber die originale Verison ließ sich via Google Cache aufrufen, so dass dieses Gerücht nun im Netz die Runde macht.
Demnach führte Beeston an, im Jahr 2013 zusammen mit Entwickler Machine Games, welcher zu ZeniMax Schweden gehört, an einem „Wolfenstein“-Titel gearbeitet zu haben. Offiziell arbeitet man dort derzeit an einem Spiel, das den Arbeitstitel „Project Tungsten“ trägt und als solches auch in mehreren Profilen verschiedener Darsteller auftaucht.
Weiters ließ sich ZeniMax über das Unternehmen CSC Corporate Domains Inc. nun die URL Wolfenstein-Spiel.com sichern, nachdem man sich bereits im Sommer letzten Jahres Wolfenstein.com von Activision sichern ließ. Gepaart mit den jüngsten Gerüchten ist fast schon davon auszugehen, dass das unter dem Arbeitstitel „Project Tungsten“ bei ZeniMax Schweden entstehende Spiel tatsächlich ein neues Wolfenstein wird. Eine offizielle Bestätigung zu diesen Infos gibt es aber noch keine, daher werden die Spekulationen und Gerüchte vorerst mal in Gang gehalten.
