Für die einen ist es zu einem wichtigen Feature geworden, für die anderen nicht machbar. Im Falle von Ghost Recon Wildlands steht jedoch fest, dass man hier keinen Battle Royale Modus erwarten kann.
Das Thema Battle Royale schwirrt nun schon seit einiger Zeit in der Videospielwelt umher. Nach dem Erfolg von PUBG und Fortnite machen sich immer mehr Entwickler Gedanken darüber zumindest einen solchen Modus in ihre bereits existierenden Spiele oder noch erscheinenden Titel zu implementieren. Doch nicht immer gelingt eine solche Umsetzung. So auch nicht im Fall von Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Auf Twitter hatte es sich ein User herbeigesehnt, dass man doch einen solchen Titel für Tom Clancy’s Titel einbauen könnte. Doch die Entwickler haben leider keine positive Antwort parat. Als Reaktion gab man ein kleineres Statement zu dem Thema ab:
Wir verstehen das Bedürfnis nach einem Battle Royale Game und, dass es wie ein natürlicher Weg für Ghost War aussieht. Dennoch würde dies Veränderungen in der Game Struktur und technische Herausforderungen mit sich bringen, die momentan einfach nicht möglich zu überwältigen sind.
Damit dürfte das letzte Wort gesprochen worden sein. Allerdings kann man zumindest hoffen, dass das Battle Royale Thema bei Ubisoft nicht völlig in Versenkung gerät. Den aktuellen Gerüchten nach zufolge sollen die Entwickler von The Division an einem solchen Titel arbeiten. Ob das allerdings auch tatsächlich der Fall ist oder nur wild Gerüchte gestreut worden, wird sich zeigen.
