Das neue Doom ist auf dem Markt und die ersten Modder werkeln schon fleißig an dem Titel herum. Ein paar von ihnen verfrachten das Spiel derzeit zurück zum Klassiker.
Bethesda und insbesondere id Software haben sich die Mühe gegeben das neue Doom so gut wie möglich an den alten Gegebenheiten aus den Klassikern anzupassen. Dazu zählen nicht nur Gimmicks, sondern auch kleine Anspielungen innerhalb das Spiels. Trotzdem ist das neue Doom mit seinen älteren Vorgängern nicht komplett zu vergleichen. Einige Veteranen werden vermutlich immer noch den Klassiker aus 1993 bevorzugen. So auch die drei Modder DBThanatos, Major Cooke und Michaelis, die sich derzeit der Aufgabe widmen den neusten Ableger in den alten Stil zurückzuverwandeln. Wie sich die Entwicklung des großen Projekts bisher macht, beweist das Team anhand eines kleinen Teasers:

Was innerhalb der fast zwei Minuten zu sehen ist, ist schon beachtenswert. Die Mod ist unter dem Namen „Doom for Doom“ bekannt und hat auch schon von den Spielern positiven Zuspruch erhalten. Jetzt müssen die Modder also nur noch fertig werden und anschließend eine erste Version bereitstellen, damit man sich in das neue und doch alte Getümmel stürzen kann. Wann D4D allerdings fertig sein wird, ist bislang noch nicht bekannt. Bisher ist lediglich von dem Wort „bald“ die Rede, was natürlich jeder anders interpretieren kann. Wir sind jedenfalls schon gespannt auf das Endergebnis.
