Mit Gun Rage wagt das Entwicklerstudio Old Bit einen Schritt in die Vergangenheit und präsentieren einen Shooter, der an die Contra-Zeiten erinnert.
So groß der Wunsch und so laut auch die Stimmen der Spieler sein mögen, die sich nach frischen Ideen und Innovationen in Spielen sehnen, so schnell kann man sich wiederum auch an einem Titel erfreuen, der alte Mechaniken wiederaufnimmt und an die alten Zeiten erinnert. Schon in der Vergangenheit hatte es immer wieder Entwickler gegeben, die wieder zu den alten Systematiken zurückgekehrt sind. Seien es Shooter oder aber auch Adventure-Games im 16bit-Stil.
Dass diese trotz dessen immer noch einen Erfolg feiern können, beweisen Spiele wie Terraria, To The Moon und Co. Doch auch das Shooter-Genre ist in dieser Hinsicht nicht eingeschlafen, denn in regelmäßigen Abständen werden Shooter beispielsweise aus der Vogelperspektive, wie zu den Anfangszeiten von GTA, veröffentlicht. Gun Rage ist ein weiterer Titel, der sich an alten Techniken bedient.
Das Studio dahinter, Old Bit, hat sich dabei jedoch an Contra orientiert, dem Side-Scroller, der unter anderem auf dem Super Nintendo zu spielen war. In dem Titel schlüpft ihr also in die Rolle eines Männchens und metzelt mit eurer Pistole alles nieder, während ihr euch durch die Level kämpft. Zum Ende eines jeden Levels erwartet euch auch ein Endgegner, der spätestens dann jegliche Nostalgiesensoren durchdrehen lassen dürfte.
Der einzige „Nachteil“ ist jedoch, dass Gun Rage ausschließlich ein Singleplayer-Titel ist. Anschauen könnte man sich ihn trotzdem. Deswegen fügen wir anbei den aktuellen Trailer hinzu. Erscheinen soll das Spiel im dritten Quartal von 2018:
